A Sweet Reward for Summer Reading!

Today was Dole Whip Day 2026 across Kearney School District, celebrating hundreds of Bulldog readers who kept the pages turning throughout the summer!

Students who completed our 2026 Summer Reading Incentive earned a Dole Whip by reading at least 500 minutes over the summer, helping them stay engaged with reading and maintain their skills while school was out.

This has become a wonderful six-year KSD tradition, and participation continues to grow. When the program began, 224 students completed the summer reading challenge. This year, that number climbed to an incredible 572 students!

We loved getting to celebrate some of those readers today and recognize the time and effort they put into reading this summer.
