Community members invited to have 1-on-1 conversations

Kearney, Mo., March 11, 2022: Kearney School District is hosting an informational open house about the Prop B – Kearney Schools Zero-Tax-Rate-Increase Bond from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29 at Kearney Elementary School, which is located at 902 S. Jefferson St.

All KSD residents plus members of the news media are invited and encouraged to attend this open house. District leaders, architects and construction managers will be prepared to have one-on-one conversations about the proposed bond and the projects that will be funded if it is approved.

KSD is asking voters to go to the polls on April 5 to vote on Proposition B, a proposed $44 million zero-tax-rate-increase bond issue. Broadly speaking, if approved, the bond issue will:

  • Fund additional pre-K through grade five classrooms
  • Provide new spaces for 21st Century teaching and learning
  • Address facility upgrades and deferred maintenance across our school system.

Passage of the bond issue will not increase the district’s debt service tax rate, which is used solely to fund construction and major repair and improvement projects in the district. Every school in KSD will benefit if Prop B is approved.

Additional details about Prop B, including proposed project renderings, are available at

Paid for by Kearney School District, Superintendent Todd White, 150 W. Hwy 92, Kearney, MO 64060.
